Once more ILEK have organized a traditional lamb roasting for Easter Sunday in Koniska square. The weather was beautiful and lots of people joined in. The partcipants turned the lambs over the fire, ate the delicious titbits prepared by the ladies, drank, danced, sang and had lunch at the square, but most people did not eat much because they were full up by the 'preliminaries'.

• Summer 2010, Opening up old paths and clearing several locations around the village by voluntary work

Autumn in St.Elias

Holy Saturday,the Spring is evident all around. A sunny day, cherry trees and apple trees in full blossom, the plane trees just beginning to shoot new leaves. Running waters everywhere, a contrast with summer when water is scarce. Lots of people returned to the village to celebrate Easter and from many houses the sounds of preparations can be heard.

Just as 2008 was ending, a heavy snowfall gave Koniska a festive look. Up to the 60's the snow in the village was frequent all winter long. Who, of the olders, does not remember the snow, the cold and the long icicles hanging from the roofs to the ground. Nowadays the snow is so scarce that, when it appears, makes it a special occasion.
